Bentley Flying Spur Hands On

The Bentley Flying Spur is a powerful sedan that could easily runs from zero to 60 mile per hour in just 4 seconds, which could be a bit surprising considering its weight and size. At 5,644 pounds, the Flying Spur outweighs the popular Ram 1500 EcoDiesel. It won’t problem keeping up with the Lotus Evora S or even the 7-speed Porsche 911 S convertible.

At just 2000rpm, drivers can have 590 lb-ft of peak torque at their disposal and it helps to make the car reasonably efficient, at 20mpg on highway and 12mpg in urban areas. For the model of Flying Spur, Bentley decides to use the newer 8-speed transmission unit, instead of the 6-speed automatic unit used by the older model.

This ZF-sourced gearbox is known as the most versatile and responsive transmission models on the market. It allows users to achieve supercar-like acceleration in a near-silence platform. The cabin should be eerily quiet, while the V-12 engine growls at peak performance.

To allow improved handling and comfort, Bentley provides better adjustable air suspension. There should be fewer occasions when the car couldn’t smoothly handle bumps and potholes.
