The BMW 4 Series Convertible is expected to make its first public debut next month at the LA Motor Show. However, details of the car have been leaked ahead of BMW’s official announcement. The BMW 4 Series Convertible will get a new kind of folding hard top roof. It takes about twenty seconds to fold the roof into the boot and drivers can do this at up to 11 mph.
It will be available for consumers in the UK starting from £35,360, which gets drivers the basic 420d SE Convertible model with the 2.0l 182hp diesel engine. It is one of the more efficient models offering 60 mpg. The coupe version of the car will be £4,075 more expensive. There are five engine options, two diesels and three petrols. The 4281 model offers 242hp and the turbo 435i offers 302hp.
The actual release date of the BMW 4 Series Convertible would be on early March next year. Neck warmers are optional extra and it can keep occupants warm with hot air. The interior of the car features a 6.5-inch color display and a leather-covered steering wheel with built-in multimedia controls.
There are automatic seat belt feeders on the front seats, which makes it easier for the driver to use the seatbelt. With its air blocker, the BMW 4 Series can get reduced buffeting. BMW claims that its new 4 Series is 20kg lighter than the earlier 3 Series Convertible and about 40 percent stiffer.
