The Hyundai i10 made a public debut at Frankfurt Motor Show last month and the company has recently issued pricing details for the UK market. The base model will be equipped with a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, 65hp engine with 69lb-feet of torque. Users would benefit from its tilt-adjust steering wheel, daytime running light, central locking system and electric front windows. Its starting price is £8,345 or £8,995 with an AC system.
The SE is a mid-range model and it will be available from £9,295. It has a more powerful 1.2-litre, 86hp, 4-cylinder engine, with four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission options. Other additions include body-coloured mirrors, remote central locking, electric rear windows and electric-heated door mirrors. £9,995 could get users a top model, equipped with door mirror indicators, front fog lights, rear speakers, LED DRLs, voice recognition, Bluetooth, steering wheel controls. The Premium trim is configured with heated front seats, heated steering wheel with leather wraps, cruise control, speed limiter, rear parking sensors and 15-inch wheels.
Overall, consumers would find that the Hyundai i10 is significant step forward compared to the predecessor. They may also find it a good alternative to the Volkswagen Up. With the much improved cabin, uninformed passengers may not be aware that they are inside a “value option”. That’s enough to make the Hyundai i10 a very convincing case for itself.
